Blendos Spring league week 4 pre game notes
We start off week four with some interesting a league games.
Carolina blue starts off the day with back to back games. This should pose as a challenge because CB beat Vegas gold last week 81-75. Vegas gold was missing key player Frank Desti and today will be without Jared Jones.
Carolina blue then will face a red hot grey loaded with talent and team chemistry.
Players to watch - Danny Njoku (CB) , Jon Brennan (VG)
If Carolina blue can beat Vegas gold again today there will be a clash of unbeaten teams when grey faces Carolina Blue
Grey will look a little bit different with the absence of Jared Beach after suffering a minor ankle injury last week in the b league.
Players to watch - Jacob Beach, Ethan Butts
The last a league game of the night is lime versus Weinland Farms (black).
Black consists of players that recently played on SUNY Delhi so it will be very intriguing to see the energy and athleticism throughout the team. Lime is currently owing to is looking to get their first one on the season.
Players to watch: Travis Moyer & Jason Davis.
B LEAGUE
5:05 pm Magros pizzeria (Black) vs Bello Electric (Royal Blue)
This is going to be a very exciting matchup to start. The black team Morale is high after an impressive win versus Team Blendos last week.
Although they will be missing star player Jared Beach. Jacob Beach & Colin Adam will look to continue impressive offensive play vs a tough and gritty defensive team in royal blue.
I imagine this game will be somewhat close with several lead changes throughout.
6:00 pm: Team Blendos (Forest Green) vs Grey
Undefeated grey ( 3-0) would love to keep the perfect season going today, especially vs Team Blendos.
Gray is led by Jared Conklin (24 ppg) and Stevie Melendez (27 ppg) orchestrated by Dylan Jaklitsch (12.0 apg).
Team Blendos is looking to bounce back from a gut wrenching loss to black last week 91-84.
Forest green still has not had their entire team present for a game and the roster may change due to injury (Emil Aponte- OUT). The league has yet to see a JO Annan appearance.
Players to watch- Jared Conklin & Stevie Melendez (Grey) Aaron Smith (FG)
730 pm: purple vs Magros pizzeria & restaurant (Black)
This will be Black's second game of the day. It might not serve as an issue as they have usually at least 8 to 9 guys ready to roll.
Purple (1-2) will be without Captain Danny Lapin after succumbing to Inj last week. Danny will be out for the season but he will still be there to coach and support the team. Purple has added two new players: Kyle Butler and Xavier Beers.
Players to watch: Jacob Beach & Colin Adam (Black), Jordan Brown & Cam Best (Purple)
8:20 pm Sand vs Orange
Here we have the clash of the defeated teams both at 0-3. The Orange team has been without Jimmy Donley & will be adding Curtis Roberts, who ironically will be making his spring debut (Margaritaville Alumni) vs the Margaritaville team in addition to the Richards brothers.
This game could be sloppy quick but the will to win from each team can pose as significant motivation to play together and make great plays, it should be interesting to watch.
Players to watch: Joe Demauro (Orange) Elijah Bullock & Connor Wayman (Sand)
9:10 pm Tennessee Orange vs Atomic Blue
And last but not least we have Tennessee Orange and atomic blue. T.O is coming off a close win vs defeated orange 73-71.
Tennessee added Zayier Lawrence last week providing them with much needed height and a additional scoring /defensive presence.
Atomic Blue is coming off an impressive win vs Orange 84-56. It was rumored as the "tale of two Oranges" because they had a different player in the game orange had vs Tennessee orange.
Travis Moyer (28 pts) & Jesse Woodard (17 pts) led the way for atomic blue. Jesse went 5/6 from 3 en route to scoring 17 pts on 7 shots!
Players to watch: Zayier Lawrence, Damian Zimmer & Danny Njoku (TO) Travis Moyer & Jesse Woodard (AB)
I'm very excited to see what the games have in store for us today and the results will be available in the morning tomorrow.
